"Scarborough Fair" has been arranged in many musical ways recently, most popularly by Simon and Garfunkel and in films such as "Lord of the Rings". It is deeply romantic and mysterious, but the lyrics should not be forgotten: the one singing is setting impossible tasks for his "true love", and there is an angry edge to the song. This arrangement for TTBB quartet or choir aims to retain that sharpness, while not losing its mystery and romance.

1.
Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.
Remember me to one who lives there.
She once was a true love of mine.
2.
Tell her to make me a cambric shirt,
Parsley, sage rosemary and thyme.
Without no seams nor needle work.
Then she'll be a true love of mine.
3.
Tell her to find me an acre of land.
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.
Between the salt water and the sea strand.
Then she'll be a true love of mine.
4.
Tell her to reap it with a sickle of leather.
Parsley, sage rosemary and thyme.
And gather it all in a bunch of heather.
Then she'll be a true love of mine.
5.
Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.
Remember me to one who lives there.
She once was a true love of mine.
